What is Flames & Fortune?
It is a strategy card game built on the Card Crawl idea: a compact deck-clearing puzzle rather than a long RPG. Each level deals a set of cards, and your job is to remove all of them without dying. Enemies deal damage unless you block or burn them first, weapons and spells let you fight back, potions heal you, and gold is the reward you carry between rooms. The tension comes from order. You decide which card to touch next, and a greedy grab can leave you cornered a move later.
Controls and card handling
The whole game is played with the mouse, so there is nothing to memorize. Drag cards to place or use them, and click to confirm choices in the menus.

Cards you will meet in the dungeon
Every board mixes a few card types, and knowing what each one does is most of the strategy.
| Card type | What it does |
|---|---|
| Enemy | Deals damage to the knight unless you kill it first |
| Weapon | Adds attack power for one or more hits |
| Fire spell | Burns a target, often clearing tougher enemies |
| Potion | Restores health so you can push deeper |
| Gold | Your score and reward, collected as you clear cards |
Clearing a level and moving on
A level ends when every card on the board is gone and the knight is still alive. That is the escape condition, and it repeats: each dungeon room hands you a fresh spread of cards and a bit less room for error. Health does not reset for free, so the potions you spend early are health you do not have later. The deeper you go, the more the run is about managing what you carry rather than what you find.
Is Flames & Fortune free and unblocked?
Yes. The game loads straight in the browser here, free, with no download, install, or sign-up. Because it is a plain web page it also plays fine on a school or work network where browser games are permitted, and on a Chromebook. Open the page, press play, and you are in.
Tips for a longer run
- Read the whole board before you touch anything. The best first move depends on what is waiting two cards later.
- Save fire spells for the enemies a plain weapon cannot safely trade with.
- Do not drink a potion at full or near-full health. Wasted healing is what ends deep runs.
- Clear enemies before they stack up. Two threats left for the end are harder than two dealt with early.
- Grab gold last when a card is safe, first only when the board is already under control.
Why the card-crawl loop works
The board is small enough to read in a glance but the order you clear it in is never obvious. One run you burn through a level clean, the next you get boxed in by a single enemy you should have handled sooner. That gap between an easy escape and a bad one is short, which makes starting another attempt feel low-cost and the wins feel earned.
